His Word for Today: Book of Isaiah 10:24-27

This morning’s verses speak of our burdens being lifted from our shoulders and our necks.

What is He leading us to do today to release us into greater freedom from bondage?  Are we striving to gain more focus through our own strength and willpower rather than simply trusting in the Word of the Lord to walk in the Spirit (See Galatians 5:16)? Are we so concerned with the specific, tangible choices we make than with why we make them, prioritizing spiritual growth? We may be frustrated about where we are today, but our focus should be on the next step of spiritual growth to become more like Christ on the inside as we make choices throughout the day today. God is more concerned about our internal growth that is unseen than which career path we have chosen to take (See 2 Corinthians 4:18, 2 Corinthians 3:18, 1 Corinthians 13:13). These truths release us from unnecessary burdens into greater freedom (John 8:32). 

Today, let us continue to focus on following the Lord through the Scriptures. He is inviting us into greater freedom.
