His Word for Today: Book of Isaiah 23:15-16

This morning’s verses talk about motives.

Is our motive to gain others' attention for approval rather than to follow His ways? He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (See John 14:6).  We may not gain the acceptance and approval of this world in our lifetime, but we can choose to follow His ways, bearing the fruit of the Spirit such as joy and peace (See Galatians 5:16, 22-23). Even if we gained the whole world through fame, status, wealth, etc, if we lost the most precious soul, such as joy and peace, what would that be to us? (See Matthew 16:26)

Today, let us continue to guard our hearts by keeping the right motives before the Lord. We will know this through the fruit of the Spirit.

May the Lord continue to bless you richly!
