His Word for Today: Book of Isaiah 9:1

This morning’s verse speaks of breakthrough in darkness.

Where are we now in our journey with the Lord? We may be in a place of darkness, confusion, strife, loss, devastation, defeat, or uncertainty. But light could always transform darkness, breaking through into dawn. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (See John 14:6). He is the Light in the midst of darkness (See Matthew 5:14-16). The judged land of Zebulun and Naphtali was the place where Jesus later began His ministry (See Matthew 4:13-16). How can Jesus work through us today, leading us from darkness into dawn? He holds the keys to breakthrough. Breakthrough may be gradual, in steps. Every promise is not fulfilled at the onset. Darkness at night gradually gives way to dawn and morning. Jesus didn’t fulfill everything He did in three years in a single day. But what is clear is that there is change with hope. 

Today, what is He speaking to us about to make a one small change that would take us further to fulfill the God-given destiny He has for us?
