This morning’s verses speak of the fall of the arrogant.

Do we fear, rely, and trust in the Lord? Whoever humbles himself will be elevated, and vice versa (See Matthew 23:12). In what areas have we chosen both consciously and unconsciously to trust in our own wisdom and strength? If we desire to be elevated, we must choose to be humble and to trust in the Lord. The world may teach focus, eliminating all distractions. Still, the Lord teaches us to walk in the Spirit (See Galatians 5:16). We know we have focus when we have peace (See Philippians 3:13, 2 Corinthians 6:2). The world may teach us to be specific in our career path, moving up the ladder to be more successful. Still, the Lord teaches internal transformation, growing in character to become more like Christ (See 2 Corinthians 3:18).

Today, let us assess areas where we have chosen to trust in ourselves instead. He promises greater freedom through the Truth of His Word  (See John 8:32).

May the Lord continue to bless you richly!
