His Word for Today: Book of Number 36:1-4

This morning's verses talk about our marriage. What are the purposes of marriage? One of them is to reflect the relationship of Christ and the Church. 

How is our relationship with the Lord? Our relationship with the Lord is reflected in our marriage. If husbands reflect the role of Christ in the Church, no matter how terrible our wives may behave, husbands are to love their wives unconditionally.  On the other hand, wives are to obey their husbands, no matter how inconvenient it may be for them because Christ teaches obedience to the Church. In other words, the more husbands come to know about Christ, the more wives are blessed through their husbands.  Wives need strength, power, encouragement from their husbands to flourish just like we as believers need Christ to prosper. Husbands play a key role in the marriage.  (Ref Ephesians 5:22-33)

Today, let us reflect on our marriage. There may be complications that may agonize us but the solution is simple: to husbands, what would Christ do? To wives, how would we relate to Christ?
