Today's verses describe the Israelis moving from the wilderness to wilderness. Are we in the season of wilderness? Even Jesus was led into the wilderness by the Spirit to be tempted by the devil. (Ref Matthew 4:1) This means that when we are led into the wilderness season, this is not because there is something wrong with us. This is part of His divine plan.
How do we move on from the wilderness into the promised land? To continue to live the life led by the Lord. Sinless Jesus also went through it before His ministry on this earth began, which seems to have been a preparation. He was led into the wilderness for 40 days and was tested. The reason why we are in the wilderness is not because of sin. We need to go through it to move into the next season of life. Jesus fasted during this season in the wilderness seeking His will keeping Himself from the leading of the flesh. (Ref Matthew 4:1-11)
Today, let us continue to hear His voice and act accordingly. (Ref John 10:27) We may experience changes in the circumstances as we move into the wilderness from the promised land, but our relationship and the walk with the Lord should remain the same. We are planted by streams of water being nourished and our leaves do not wither staying strong. And the fruit bearing season will come. It is during this season that we can draw even closer to Him. No wonder that the leaves that do not wither need to draw more nourishment when it should really be withering. (Ref Psalm 1:3)
May the Lord continue to richly bless you!
