Today's verse speaks of warning towards greed. Are we grateful for His provision?

God was merciful when He supplied them with quail because the Israelis demanded them in the wilderness. (Ref Numbers 11:10-15) But what displeased God was their craving for anything other than their provision from the Lord, which was manna, forgetting about the provision that was already there for them to appreciate.

Today, let us ask ourselves if what we are desiring or hoping to see happen has the right motives. Do we already have what we are asking? If yes, why are we asking for more? Do we want a better car, house, spouse, friend, career, calling, ministry? His supply is for our enjoyment. (Ref 1 Timothy 6:17) If there is a gap between joy and frustration, we need to make the change in our mind to begin appreciating what the Lord has already given to us. He may supply us with some more at times out of mercy, but that should not take the central place of His provision for us.

May the Lord continue to richly bless you!
