Today's section of the bible talks about the rebellion of the followers towards their leaders. One of the reasons rebellion comes is because of their fear. No matter how beneficial, valuable, good the plan and the next step is, some people do not get the value. They let what may happen out of fear get in the way. What then should we do as leaders?
To continue to do what the Lord tells us to do. We may feel lonely along the way but the Lord is with us. And the Lord is more than enough. Like Moses, we may never get their full agreement of others in our life time but if our focus is on what others would like to see, we will miss out on His plan for us. What matters is our obedience to the Lord experiencing Him to the full on earth as it is in heaven. (Ref Matthew 6:10)
Additionally, we may not have the position or title 'leader' exercising the gift of leadership at various levels influencing others. We too shall face similar situations like Moses but the focus should be the same: to obey what the Lord says. (Ref John 10:27)
As followers, throughout the bible, it is important to accept the truth that the Lord works through leaders. If we want to experience more of the Lord, the flow of the Holy Spirit (Ref John 7:38) in the church, submitting to leadership is one of the simplest ways to experience Him.
Today, let us assess where we are in terms of our attitude as leaders and followers. Whichever side we are on, we have the choice to experience more of Jesus or less.
May the Lord continue to richly bless you!
