Today's section of the bible talks about who we serve. Regardless of how well we have served the Lord, we may face mass opposition even within our own teams. This may seem disappointing but this is the truth that we need to face as followers and leaders of the community, the church. What then do we do in response to this?
We continue to serve the Lord. The bible teaches us to serve the Lord with all of our heart in whatever we do unto the Lord. (Ref Colossians 3:23) What is He speaking to us? Our response should be to follow His guidance. We hear His voice. (Ref John 10:27)
We are not to condemn ourselves right away. It is important that we hear our guidance from the Lord, not from men. He may lead us to receive counsel from others but that is after He leads us to do so. (Ref Proverbs 11:14, Proverbs 20:18) Do we have peace in our hearts about the feedback we receive from those who seem to be our opposition? (Ref Colossians 3:15)
We simply need to accept this as a tough truth that not everyone will agree and follow us. This could even be the majority not following us. But that is OK because that is the Truth the Lord reveals to us in the bible. Many are called but few are chosen. (Ref Matthew 22:14) Do we choose to be the few? Or do we strive to manipulate the opinions of the opposition so that they can be for us in vain? The Scripture also teaches us not to throw pearls at pigs. It is a waste of time to try to persuade those who do not understand the value that we bring. (Ref Matthew 7:6) We just need to resist the temptation to please them. (Ref James 4:7)
Today, let us not get criticisms, disagreements get in the way of serving the Lord Who matters the most to us.
May the Lord continue to richly bless you!
