His Word for Today: Book of Numbers 15:17-21

Today's verses talk about our tithes to the Lord. Is tithe the only portion that belongs to the Lord?

The truth is that everything comes from the Lord, which means that everything belongs to Him. (Ref James 1:17, 1 Chronicles 29:14, Psalm 24:1, Romans 11:36, Deuteronomy 10:14-17) We are stewards of what we have with us physically. Are we faithful stewards of what He has entrusted to us?

We may notice that the more we have in terms of physical possessions, the more responsibility we have to take care of them. We may experience more pressure in the natural. I believe that this is one of the reasons why it is more blessed to give than to receive. (Ref Acts 20:35) We have less weight to carry. 

And we may misunderstand that the more we give away, the less we have. But the truth is, the more we give as He leads us, the more we receive in abundance. The Lord delights in giving His servants who are faithful with more. (Ref Luke 6:38)

Today, let us remember that our giving doesn't end with the tithes because all of our possessions belong to the Lord. How do we steward our resources then? Let us seek His guidance in terms of how to utilize our resources. Because He rewards those who are faithful with more than we can ever ask or think. (Ref Matthew 25:21)
