Today's verses talk about His judgement on those who do not obey Him. Why does God kill

men but commands us not to murder? This is because to kill and to murder have two separate definitions.

God is teaching us in the Scriptures that it is actually the motive behind killing that matters. Are we killing because of anger, curse, arrogance etc. in our hearts? If we are, then God is not happy about them because they are murders.(Ref Matthew 5:21-23)

God kills to deal with sin because He is a holy God. If Sabbath which was a commandment from the Lord is not honored, whoever is not honoring them, behaving in an unholy way needs to be removed from His presence. This is one of the reasons why the Lord is instructing us to renew our minds replacing the ungodly with Godly thoughts. (Ref Romans 12:1-2)

Today, let us seek His guidance in terms of motives. Are we angry because of our issues or of

His glory?

May the Lord continue to richly bless you!
