Today's verses talk about our role in the Body of Christ. Are we in search of another person's job with a motive to steal, or to serve, adding value, (Ref Matthew 20:28) going the extra mile (Ref Matthew 5:41) so that another person can fulfill the God given destiny?
The gifts that the Lord gave us are for the purpose of serving others. (Ref 1 Peter 4:10) How can we serve so that the whole body can benefit from our service?
We may be in a state of conflict with those who have similar gifts in terms of roles fulfilled in the Church. What does He want us to do now to be prepared for the next stage? We are to be faithful, content with the current assignment He has given us. There may be discomfort in this but we can also experience abundant joy and peace fulfilling the role He has given us to fulfill at this stage. We will never revisit this stage of the walk. There is a reason why He has placed us there because we are not ready and His time will come. (Ref Matthew 25:23)
Today, let us focus on the role He has placed us now, today. We may want something more, but the time has not yet come. Rather than stealing, let us focus on serving others through the gifts He has entrusted us with in joy and peace but waiting in expectation of His time to move on to the next phase of the assignment.
May the Lord continue to richly bless you!
