Today's verses talk about being ready and prepared to fight the battles to fulfill the God given destiny. Why is our walk to our destiny taking longer than we think?
One of the reasons can be because we are not ready to fight the battles if we are to take the shortest route. Israelis must have faced some level of conflict if they had to deal with the people of Edom, having been rejected entry by the king already, descendants of Esau, from whom Jacob, Israel stole the birth right blessing. The two groups were essentially in opposition.
This means that taking the longer route is the shortest route to our destination, getting ourselves prepared and matured as we proceed, to experience the breakthrough to move onto the next level of walk with the Lord. We are to faithfully walk through the longer route to fulfill His plan for us. We have the opportunity to enjoy the scenery of the journey we would not otherwise have experienced.
Today, let us assess ourselves where we stand in terms of our progress to our final destination in our assignments. Our mind may tell us to take the shorter route for efficiency but the Lord sees a bigger picture from a higher level. (Ref Isaiah 55:9) What is the current step of the challenge we are to pass through? What is He dealing with us right now? Dealing with them in a Godly way may be the key to a shorter route from His sight for acceleration. (Ref Amos 8:9)
May the Lord continue to richly bless you!
