This morning's verses talk about sexual immorality, adultery, sins of mankind to be judged by the Lord. What causes people to commit adultery? Why do some people seem to struggle to get out of this sin?
For some, it may be as simple as turning away from them by not watching pornography on the internet etc.. (Ref 1 Thessalonians 5:22) But some may have deep rooted issues that need to be resolved through the Word of God, where adultery has become their addiction. So how can we resolve this deep rooted issue? Jesus wants to deal with negativity from the roots up.(Ref Mark 11:20-21)
This can come from our desire for approval. We may desire success, recognition but not experiencing what we want. But Jesus died on the cross for our prosperity, success as well. (Ref Isaiah 53:5) The Word "peace" in Isaiah 53:5 also refers to completeness, wholeness, success. We are able to receive success from the Creator of the universe. We no longer need to strive for success. We can receive success through receiving Christ. This is how the restoration journey from addiction can begin. What is the one Scripture that the Lord wants to use to transform our lives through renewing our minds? Our behavior will follow. (Ref Romans 12:1-2) This means that as we meditate on His Word, confess His promises, we will begin to see real life changes not only in our addictions but in all areas of our lives. (Ref Proverbs 18:21)
Today, let us seek Him to provide us with a Scripture that we need to grow from inside out, in any area of our lives that we are struggling. We may not be struggling with an addiction, but one verse of Scripture can transform our lives, experiencing freedom. (Ref John 8:32)
May the Lord continue to richly bless you!
