His Word for Today: Book of Numbers 28:11-15

This morning's verses talk about offering ourselves to the Lord. Do we offer ourselves from rest or insecurity, restlessness? The key here is to work from rest through faith.(Ref Hebrews 4:3) This means that God goes to work when we are at rest. Because Christ died on the cross for our sins once and for all time, (Ref 1 Peter 3:18) works required to attain salvation was removed. What is required now is faith which leads to rest. (Ref John 6:29)

Whether health, finances, relationships etc., we need a Word to stand on so that we can rest rather than strive. When we have faith that we hear His voice, we hear Him at rest and act accordingly. (Ref John 10:10) If we act without faith, hearing His voice, the action becomes a self effort. We can cast our cares regarding the most stressful relationships and experience rest seeing Him work through us. (Ref 1 Peter 5:7, Psalm 55:22, Philippians 4:6-7, Mark 11:20-21, 1 Samuel 17:47) 

Today, let us seek His guidance on in what areas we have let self effort rather than His Spirit that lead to rest govern our actions.
