Today's verse continues to talk about the Israelis moving from wilderness to wilderness. Although going through a season of wilderness is part of His plan for us, how do we get out of the wilderness? Jesus fasted and was tempted by the devil in the wilderness where He was led by the Spirit before being led out.(Ref Matthew 4:1-11)

Jesus must have fasted so that He can know more about His will, a much deeper connection with the Father. I believe this was a time of preparation for the ministry that He was to begin. He needed His father to lead Him throughout the journey to crucifixion. He strengthened His submission to the Father.

Then Jesus resisted the temptations from the devil and the devil fled. (Ref James 4:7) It may be a season when the devil may bring about ungodly thoughts into our minds tempting us to move away from the Lord. What is a negative thought that keeps defeating you that needs to be defeated?

If it is in the area of focus, Jesus is teaching us that only one thing is needed. (Ref John 6:29) Multi tasking in this present day may be keeping you from focusing on one thing even turning this experience into a habit of diversifying rather than focus. We experience rest through focus. (Ref Matthew 11:28)

Today, let us seek His guidance in terms of what needs to be changed in our minds. What do you think He is telling us to repent? He is expecting us to experience victory in the wilderness before taking us into the land of His promise to fulfill the God given destiny.

May the Lord continue to richly bless you!
