This morning's verse speaks to the importance of calling people by their names. Moses chose to call Hoshea, Joshua which means the Lord is salvation. Joshua later led the Israelis into the promised land. How do we call people?

First, no matter what the motive behind the name was, let us call people by their names. It is an act of His love. When we are called by names, we feel recognized, noticed and accepted.

Second, who are we from the eyes of the Lord? Are we blessed or cursed? Healed or sick? Abundant or lacking? Successful or failure? Focused or distracted? Victorious or loser? Overcomer or overcome? Joshua was named the Lord is salvation, which must have given him a new identity in the Lord, with the recognition and determination to lead the Israelis into a new territory, His breakthrough to experience more of Jesus.

Today, let us call ourselves how the Lord sees us. We can then call the people around us not only by their legal names but also by His name.

May the Lord continue to richly bless you!
