Today's verses talk about faith. Israelis except for Joshua and Caleb could not enter the promised land because of their lack of faith. (Ref Hebrews 3:19) Are there areas in our lives where we are choosing not to believe?
Adam and Eve chose to question what the Lord spoke to them believing in the lies of the enemy saying that they are not enough in the Lord condemning themselves that they needed to do something to become like God. (Ref Genesis 3:5) The truth was that Adam and Even were already created in the image of God. (Ref Genesis 1:27) In other words, self condemnation is one of the ways for us to weaken our faith in the Lord. Their consequences of self condemnation led to their shame towards themselves that they needed to hide themselves. (Ref Genesis 3:7) We may have areas in our lives we wish we did not have but the truth is that we are God's righteousness in Christ Jesus, (Ref 2 Corinthians 5:21) we are like Jesus (Ref 1 John 4:17) in the spirit as a spiritual being (Ref John 4:24) with a soul, clothed in a body. (Ref 1 Thessalonians 5:23) Our true selves are not what is visible on the outside but what is on the inside in the spirit.
Today, let us continue to confess throughout the day that we are created in the image of God in the spirit. We may not like all that we sense on the outside about ourselves such as physical appearance, age etc. but they are not our true selves. Whatever is seen is temporary but whatever is unseen is eternal. (Ref 2 Corinthians 4:18)
May the Lord continue to richly bless you!
