This morning's verses talk about comforting others the way we were comforted.
We may be faced in an uncomfortable situation in relationships having to deal with rude and offensive personalities. But how have we been offensive and rude towards the Lord Who has forgiven us of all of our sins past, present and future? (Ref 1 Peter 3:18) When we read through the Law in the Old Testament, the Scripture teaches us that the Law was given so that we may know how sinful we are. (Ref Romans 5:20) If we are struggling with offenses, one of the reasons could be because we are in the growth process of understanding more of His forgiveness towards us. Jesus had human-like emotions as He headed to and was put on the cross complaining, enduring and being shameful. (Ref Matthew 26:39, Hebrews 12:2) This was part of His manifestation of His forgiveness towards us. We may not be able to be completely emotionally pleasant as we forgive others. And this is the Truth that sets us free. (Ref John 8:32)
Today, let us remember the forgiveness that is made available to us through Jesus Christ, and how His forgiveness comforts us so that we can forgive others the same way.
May the Lord continue to richly bless you!
