His Word for Today: Book of Deuteronomy 16:18-20

This morning's verses talk about fairness.

Are we fair in our dealing with matters, people? The Lord is teaching us not to take sides when dealing with matters. One of the Wisdoms the Lord teaches in the Scriptures is to listen to both sides of the story before making a judgement. (Ref Proverbs 18:17) Listening quickly is the key before passing judgement with anger. (Ref James 1:19) We may be making presumptions that are false. If we are afraid of asking questions in order to listen, let us remind ourselves that His perfect love that is in us drives out all fear. (Ref 1 John 4:18) The Lord is interested in our motives. (Ref Hebrews 4:12)

Today, let us choose the path of fairness. It starts with being a listener.
