This morning’s devotional talks about listening carefully to instructions of others.
Today’s verses list presumption and insolence side by side, which means that they have similar meanings. Being presumptuous denotes an arrogant attitude. In other words, listening by asking questions is the right and humble way to make sure we understand the speaker correctly so that we can serve them accordingly. (Ref James 1:19)
Today, let us assess if we have been presumptuous in any areas of our relationships. Even if we may feel uncomfortable because the speaker may get frustrated by being asked questions, let us remember that His perfect love in us drives out all fear. (Ref 1 John 4:4, 1 John 4:18)
May the Lord continue to richly bless you!
