This morning's verses talk about unnecessary battles that we fight simply out of pride. Are there any battles that we are fighting that are simply a waste of time?
The Lord is teaching us to drop the matter before a dispute breaks out. Arguments that take up our time that could be used for something productive is time wasted. (Ref Proverbs 17:14)
If we hold onto offense, this is also a way to waste our time. When we overlook an offense, we are able to move on to spend our time on something that can produce positive fruit. (Ref Proverbs 19:11)
The Lord is teaching us to lay aside every sin that so easily entangles us. We are to keep ourselves light so that we can run with endurance the race that is set before us to completion. (Ref Hebrews 12:1-2)
He will give us the desires (Ref Psalm 37:4) and the will (Ref Philippians 2:13) that are unique to each one of us to follow so that we can fulfill the God given destiny designed for each one of us. Are we setting expectations towards ourselves that are not realistic and Godly leading ourselves only to frustrations? Comparing ourselves with others leads to stresses that do not bear positive fruit. Our focus should be on personal growth challenging ourselves to continue growing. (Ref Jeremiah 29:11)
Today, let us focus on the battles that the Lord is leading us to fight, fighting the good fight of faith. (Ref 1 Timothy 6:12)
May the Lord continue to richly bless you!
