His Word for Today: Book of Deuteronomy 20:19-20

This morning’s verses talk about bearing fruit. 

The Lord is interested in bearing fruit. As believers, we are connected to Christ which enables us to bear much fruit. (Ref John 15:5) In other words, the fruit bearing process should be effortless. What have we resisted from receiving from Jesus Who is the Vine, so that as branches, we can produce fruitful results? What has He spoken to us through the Scriptures or the Holy Spirit? We hear His voice. (Ref John 10:27)

Today, let us follow His guidance regarding the next steps. The branches don’t need to ask the vines to provide nutrients, they just flow from the vines to the branches. What we need is the heart to receive from Christ so that we can prosper in whatever we do.
