This morning’s verses talk about the firstborn.
Jesus Christ is the Firstborn. (Ref Colossians 1:15) Does this mean that Adam and Eve and their descendants are 2nd and lower class than Christ? No, we are precious and honored in His sight. (Ref Isaiah 43:4)
We may all want to feel valued by being the first in the organization, team, company, church, family etc. but we don’t need to strive to be the first to experience acceptance. Even if we are not in the first chair, we can be a part of God’s vision and dream for us. Unlike Moses, Joshua took on the vision Moses received from the Lord to enter the promised land. (Ref Deuteronomy 31:1-6) Joseph followed King Pharaoh under his leadership. (Ref Genesis 41:41) We don’t necessarily need to be the one receiving the vision but we can be the successor or follower to fulfill the vision. We can choose to be a part of His plan. Ultimately, what matters is our hearts’ motive to obey Him. (Hebrews 4:12)
Today, if we are called to be the 2nd and below, let us not dilute ourselves from fulfilling the God given destiny. Where is He doing His work? Let us be part of His vision and dreams - this is what counts.
May the Lord continue to richly bless you!
