His Word for Today: Book of Deuteronomy 23:21-23

This morning’s verses talk about making oaths. Do we need to swear to the Lord that we will do certain things? 

Scriptures teach that a simple yes or no is enough. (See James 5:12) This is really about saying yes to what the Lord leads us to do. Have we been saying yes to all that the Lord is leading us to do?

The challenge here is that although we do, there may be blind spots, areas where we are still ignorant about, where we are not intentional about disobeying God. This is one of the reasons why it is important that we belong to a community that would give us feedback as well as being intentional about daily spiritual growth.

Today, let us continue to follow and serve the Lord. What areas is the Lord expecting us to grow in this season through a simple yes?
