His Word for Today: Book of Deuteronomy 24:1-4

This morning’s verses talk about divorce. 

Marriage represents our relationship with the Lord. If this is what marriage is all about, how would we treat our spouses in our marriages? If husbands are to love their wives as Christ loved the Church, it is clear that the husband’s love needs to come first in order to experience prosperity in the marriage. If wives are to submit to their husbands as the Body is expected to obey the Head for the Body to function properly, wives play a key role for the marriage to experience wholeness. (See Ephesians 5:22-33)

Today, let us ask ourselves how we have fulfilled our roles as husbands and wives. And most importantly, as Body of Christ, how have we fulfilled our roles for the whole Body to function properly? We may not be living the life that we wish we had, but we each have an important role to play to see the Kingdom of God advance. (See Ephesians 4:9-16)
