His Word for Today: Book of Deuteronomy 26:1-11

This morning’s verses talk about our first fruit offering. 

What does He promise when we offer our first fruits to the Lord? He blesses us abundantly. (See Proverbs 3:9) Because He wants us to put Him first in all areas, particularly in finances, since He knows that it can keep us from seeking Him first, He emphasizes it in this area. 

What is our attitude when we give our first to the Lord? He wants us to worship Him, remembering His goodness, rejoicing. Has our giving to the Lord become a mere process without joy?

Today, let us look into our hearts and ask ourselves if we have remembered His goodness in joy as we give our offerings to the Lord. God is interested in our motives.
