His Word for Today: Book of Deuteronomy 26:16-19

This morning’s verses talk about obedience and blessing.

Who are we trying to please so that we can feel valued and honored? If we are doing this towards people around us who change, we are being manipulated by what others are saying about us, tossed around to and fro. But if we choose to please the One Who doesn’t change, we can be stable, consistent, and experience value and honor. He promises that He would make us the head if we obey the Lord. We may not always get the position, but we would be set apart as lights in the darkness. (See Matthew 5:14-16)

Today, let us assess our hearts, who we are trying to please.
