His Word for Today: Book of Deuteronomy 27:20

This morning’s verse talks about honoring our marriage.

Our marriage between a husband and a wife reflects our relationship with the Lord, Who is our bridegroom, where we are the bride. This means that if we let anybody else into our marriage, we violate the covenant between the Lord and us. In other words, if we see the condition of our marriage, we can see the state of our relationship with the Lord. 

Today, let us assess where we are with our marriage. As husbands, is Christ’s love to the Church modeled through our attitudes and behaviours? If husbands take care of their bodies but not their wives, the Bible says that this doesn’t make sense. As wives, are we submitting to our husbands as the Body should obey the Head, respecting and delighting in him? (See Ephesians 5:22-33)
