This morning’s verses talk about the consequences of disobedience.

The Scripture teaches us that if we choose to walk in the Spirit, we will not walk in the lust of the flesh. (See Galatians 5:16) In other words, what and where is our focus? In terms of character development, in which area do we have the most trouble and a hard time with? Is it in the area of relationships with people where we may be easily offended, seeing people negatively? In this case, love is what may be needed for us to focus on. Mercy (See Matthew 5:39-42), trust (1 Corinthians 13:7), value and praise (See Philippians 4:8), and gratitude (1 Thessalonians 5:18) are some of the keys to breakthroughs in relationships. When we choose to love, we will experience exceeding joy, peace, and rest (See Galatians 5:22-23, Hebrews 4:3), which has eternal value. We may be sidetracked by worldly success, fame, recognition, approval, wealth, etc., but these are temporary, and we don’t take them to heaven. (See 2 Corinthians 4:18, 1 Timothy 6:7)

Today, what is the area of our character that requires growth? We can trust the Lord to let His blessings chase after and overtake us. (See Deuteronomy 28:2)

May the Lord continue to richly bless you!
