This morning’s verses talk about obedience to the Lord so that we may experience His blessings.
What have we been taught to obey as children growing up from our parents, who were in a position of authority? Were they in the areas of character or performance? This may have had a profound impact on how we obey the Lord, Who is the ultimate authority. If we look at the 10 commandments, it is about character development, including the worship of the Lord. It is not specifically about how to write, walk, run, fight, or move from one place to another physically, which the world today might teach us to do for the most part, because obedience in these areas seems to be the closest path to success.
Today, let us continue to work on areas of character that we can grow in. We must be intentional about choosing to serve the Lord because our natural response to an irritable situation is usually ungodly emotions. (See Colossians 3:23) Focus, (See Matthew 6:24) trust, (See 1 Corinthians 13:7) value, (See Philippians 4:8) gratitude, (See 1 Thessalonians 5:18) are some of the areas that require our intentionality.
May the Lord continue to richly bless you!
