This morning’s verses speak of the Lord’s favor over the believers.
When we have His favor, we are not only distinguished but also favored by those whom we are distinguished from. How can we experience His favor? By choosing humility and repentance. In other words, it is not through works, but by the heart that honors the Lord. (See Isaiah 66:2) Again, He is interested in our hearts, souls, and character.
Today, let us assess our hearts. What is the motive of our obedience to the Lord? So that we can succeed and gain fame, honor, and glory from the people around us in the name of Christ-centered ministry? What the Lord is interested in is the broken hearts that produce the oil that represents the anointing and the favor of God. (See Matthew 26:36-46) What have we learned in seasons of trials that have eternal significance? Once again, love is highly valued throughout the Bible. (See 1 Corinthians 13:13) Have we been holding onto angry experiences from the past? Then it is time to drop the matter. (See 1 Corinthians 13:5)
May the Lord continue to bless you richly today!
