His Word for Today: Book of Deuteronomy 5:11

This morning’s devotional speaks to reverent fear towards the Lord.

One of the ways to reveal our reverent fear towards the Lord is our humility that He is the almighty God that we need Him throughout our lives on this earth. False understanding that we are mature as a believer not needing Him can keep us from being God reliant. We may be tempted to falsely encourage ourselves that we are mature in a sense that we don’t need Him now. We may be choosing this attitude without knowing out of pride to falsely guard ourselves, which is a clear sign that we need Him to continue to grow from inside out. (Ref Philippians 1:6) Our choice to be humble in front of the Lord releases His abundant grace towards us. (Ref James 4:6) 

Today, let us continue to have the attitude of reverent fear towards the Lord, which is revealed through our attitude of humility.
