This morning’s verse talks about the consequences of disobedience.
Have we disobeyed the Lord when someone treated us with rude behavior and we were led to overlook an offence? (See Proverbs 19:11) How about when we were distracted and were led to focus on the present? (See Philippians 3:13, 2 Corinthians 6:2) How about when we were led to show mercy towards an individual who is demanding? (See Luke 6:36) Have we been intentionally listening in a conversation rather than speaking? (See James 1:19) Have we chosen to think about the positive side of people giving thanks? (See Philippians 4:8) Have we chosen to trust people’s good motives even if they seem to only offend us? (See 1 Corinthians 13:7)
Above are some of the questions that we can ask ourselves if we are obeying the Lord. The Bible is mostly about our character development. In other words, fulfilling the God-given destiny is about becoming more like Christ in character. (2 Corinthians 3:18)
Today, let us choose to go through the uncomfortable in character development. It may not be easy, but there are certainly rewards for those who earnestly seek Him. (See Hebrews 11:6)
May the Lord continue to richly bless you!
