His Word for Today: Book of Deuteronomy 28:6

This morning’s verse continues to speak of His blessings resulting from our obedience to Him.

He literally says that wherever we are, in the home or outside of the home, we shall be blessed. What an amazing promise.

But what we need to remember is what we obey about His commandments. Most of His Word is concerning our character. (See Deuteronomy 27:15-26)

Have we been so focused on whether we have made the right choice to fulfill our vocational calling? The Lord is more interested in how we live out our callings, revealing Christ’s character. What specific Word has He given us to work on to become more like Christ, revealing His character? (See 2 Corinthians 3:18)

Have we been offended by someone refusing to trust in the good motive? (See 1 Corinthians 13:7) Have we chosen to think of the negative side of what people have done? (See Philippians 4:8) Have we forgotten to give thanks? (See 1 Thessalonians 5:18) Our primary focus should be on these types of areas of character.

Today, let us continue to reflect on our areas of growth of character, our mind, will, and emotions. Because what matters eternally is what we cannot see. (See 2 Corinthians 4:18) Before we know it, His blessings will overtake us, chasing after us.
