This morning’s verses talk about our reverent fear of the Lord.

What is the motive of our obedience to the Lord? So that we can be blessed? Or so that we can honor and respect the Lord? We all want to be blessed, and he promises that our obedience will enable us to experience His blessings. (See Deuteronomy 28:2) But how about our honor, fear towards the Lord?

Today, let us choose to honor the Lord. If we choose to honor the Lord, how would we obey the Scriptures in the Bible? Do we choose to focus? (See Matthew 6:24) Do we choose to let go of the wrongs of others?  (See 1 Corinthians 13:5) Do we choose to force things to happen when we don’t have peace? (See Colossians 3:15) Do we thank God for fulfilled desires? (See 1 Thessalonians 5:18, Psalm 37:4) Do we obey the Lord only when we feel like it without being intentional? (See Colossians 3:23) Do we choose to grow in our reverent fear towards the Lord? (See 2 Corinthians 3:18) What He is interested in is the genuineness of our faith, even though we may grieve over various trials. (See 1 Peter 1:6-7) These are not tangible areas but will certainly bless our souls through our obedience. Do we value what matters in eternity? (See 2 Corinthians 4:18)

May the Lord continue to richly bless you!
