His Word for Today: Book of Deuteronomy 5:20

This morning's verse talks about lying. One of the reasons why we lie is because of our insecurity. 

AMP version of the Bible says that to give false testimony is to "lie, withhold, or manipulate the truth". We have to lie because by being truthful, we may forfeit something losing control. It is our pride that drives us to try to look good in front of others that makes us lie. Who has ultimate authority over our lives? The Lord. When we choose to focus on the Lord trusting Him, we receive peace. (Ref Isaiah 26:3) Choosing to be consistently truthful may make us feel uncomfortable but this is surely the way to peace and prosperity. (Ref 3 John 1:2)

Today, let us consistently choose to be truthful, experiencing His peace, and prosper in all areas of our lives.
