This morning’s verses talk about being intentional about obeying the Lord.

Have we ever felt like the Word of God is not working, not producing the fruit it promises? One reason could be that we have not fought enough to be intentional (See Colossians 3:23) about trusting, obeying, and serving the Lord to receive the promise.

If it is in the area of focus (See Galatians 5:16), we should not only trust in His promise, but also consider whether underlying sin is keeping us from focus, such as bitterness. The Scripture teaches us that if we choose to walk in the Spirit, we will not walk in the lust of the flesh. (See Galatians 5:16) Our focus on Christ keeps us away from getting into trouble. If we choose not to overlook the offense (See 1 Corinthians 13:5), trust (See 1 Corinthians 13:7), value (See Philippians 4:8), appreciate (See 1 Thessalonians 5:18), these can act as distractions. We must continue to confess these promises. (See Proverbs 18:21)

Today, what have we given up because we felt like the Word is not working? We need to choose to fight the good fight of faith (See 1 Timothy 6:12) to be intentional about choosing to trust, obey, and serve the Lord because at the right time, we shall reap the harvest of blessings. (See Galatians 6:9)

May the Lord continue to richly bless you!
